Preparing for the Annual Fireworks Scare

It’s almost Independence Day, which means it’s officially Fireworks Season!  This is a really scary times for dogs though so read up on how to manage their anxieties and keep them calm while the celebrations are happening outside.

A few important things to keep in mind:

  • When dogs are scared, they are more likely to run away. Make sure your pet has proper and up-to-date identification or tracking information just in case he or she panics and runs from home.
  • Keep windows or curtains closed to minimize noise and loud flashes.
  • Create a comfortable and soothing spot for your dog, whether that be a warm blanket on the floor, his or her regular pen or right by your side!
